Sweden has a leading position in transport efficiency. To reinforce this position a national centre for sustainable transports will be built at Lindholmen in Gothenburg. Closer is a new Swedish arena where the industry's and academia's active participation will be critical for success. VINNOVA has decided to support the effort with four million SEK the first year.
Lindholmen Science Park has gradually evolved and is today a national center in the Swedish automotive development. This is why Scania is now focusing on a more active role through partnership with Lindholmen Science Park, and opening an office in Gothenburg. An increased need for cooperation between the traditional automotive industry and other partners and stakeholders is the reason for the establishment.
On November 11 an opening ceremony will be held for two unique fast charging stations for electric cars in the Gothenburg area. The programme starts at 10 am with a seminar on the future of electric cars, trends and fast charging.
There is continued strong influx of businesses to Lindholmen Science Park. During the past year, the number of companies increased from 275 to 311, and over 18,700 people are now active in the area.
On Friday October 21, Software Development Day is arranged at Lindholmen Science Park for the seventh consecutive year. Last year, the conference had over 400 visitors from 60 companies. This year's theme is Software as a competitive edge in product development.
The first commuter challenge took place at Lindholmen Science Park on Monday. Commuters started out from two locations in the Göteborg area with the challenge of travelling to Lindholmen in the quickest and most environmentally friendly way possible.
The completion of AstaZero, a unique testing environment for the next generation of vehicles, will bring more than 20 skilled jobs to the community of Hällered in Borås, Sweden. The project was initiated by Test Site Sweden at Lindholmen Science Park, with partners from academia, industry, the public sector and the local community.
