Further increase in number of companies


Lindholmen Science Park is continuing to grow as a business cluster. In the past year the number of companies has increased by 51, to 275. These have some 9000 employees; in addition there are about 9000 students. This continued expansion will also enhance the development of Lindholmen Science Park's research and development environment.

Lindholmen Conference Centre - Top class meeting place

In August this year Lindholmen's new conference facility got fully underway. And now all those working with it have really got the wind in their sails. In the short time since it opened, they have arranged both the shooting of films and full-day conferences with several hundred international participants. The new, modern meeting place has been admired and appreciated by many. Lindholmen Conference Centre can accommodate up to 600 people and was a much needed addition to the facilities in the area. The complete establishment takes up to 1000 people.

MSB presents its research programme - 24 November 
 

On 24 November, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, MSB, will present its research programme for 2011-2013. This entails MSB, as a research financier, presenting research needs within the area as well as future proclamations. Time: 24 November, 13-15. Location: Lindholmen Conference Centre, Lindholmspiren 5, Gothenburg.

The research programme will be distributed at the meeting but is also available at  www.msb.se/forskning (only in Swedish)

Large investment in development centre for ambulance and prehospital care


Four million kronor is being invested in a new project at the development centre for ambulance and prehospital care (TUCAP) at Lindholmen Science Park. TUCAP, which was initiated by SOS Alarm, is run by Lindholmen Science Park in collaboration with the Västra Götaland region, experts in the field, researchers and industrial partners. The project is primarily oriented towards communication and information technology to support and improve the effectiveness of ambulance alarms and prehospital care.

Breakfast meeting theme Visualisation - 16 November

Meet the company inUse, a digital agency with a focus on usability. inUse specialises in ensuring the usage of interactive products and services, everything from mobile solutions to internal IT systems. Anders Björk, a top designer and strategist with more than 10 years experience of digital systems, will show examples of how to improve design with a focus on usability.

Presentation of Chalmers Professional education for companies - 18 November


Chalmers is now forming its commissioned education into a single organisation, Chalmers Professional Education, which will be launched through a prominent seminar at Lindholmen on 18 November. Contributions will be made by Tom Johnstone from SKF, and Karin Markides and John Holmberg from Chalmers, among others.

Lucia at Lindholmen 13 December


Lindholmen's yearly Lucia celebration will once again be held at Rytmus Music College. Everyone is welcome to the new indoor street at 09.30 for song, coffee and lussekatter (Swedish Christmas buns). The Lucia celebration is arranged by Lindholmen Science Park, Älvstranden Utveckling and Lindholmen Conference Centre.
